National Child Protection Week 2010

National Child Protection Week runs from the 5^th to the 11^th of September 2010. It is an annual campaign that aims to raise awareness in the community of child abuse prevention.

 

On the 9^th of September at 9.30pm, there is a premiere on ABC1 TV of POLLY AND ME. This is a short fiction film that raises awareness about the complex issues of child abuse and neglect.

 

POLLY AND ME will be screened in an ABC TV special, KIDS AT RISK, hosted by Geraldine Doogue and followed by a discussion with child abuse prevention experts, carers and child abuse survivors.

 

The film is part of a broader campaign that Good Beginnings is supporting to raise awareness about preventing child abuse, draw attention to prevention and early intervention strategies that work, and empower every Australian to play a part in protecting and nurturing vulnerable children in our midst.
