Benefits of Education Revolution Taking Shape
Senator Helen Polley and State Labor Candidate for Bass, Brant Webb, today visited schools in Launceston to view the progress of construction projects funded under the Building the Education Revolution as part of the Economic Stimulus Plan.
“The Building the Education Revolution has delivered over $86 million to 50 schools across Bass.” Senator Polley said. “This commitment will fund 113 projects and provide a long-term, bricks-and-mortar benefit to those schools and the communities that centre on them.”
Senator Polley and Mr Webb together visited Ravenswood Heights Primary School, Launceston Church Grammar School (Junior), and St Thomas More’s School and viewed a total of 6 projects achieved through $6.47 million of funding.
“Today we have visited a range of schools that represent a broad cross section of the community.” Senator Polley commented.
“Each has received much needed, much wanted funding for projects that have one simple purpose – to improve the quality of the educational experience of Launceston’s youth. Infrastructure is an integral part of that experience and this funding provides specifically for the improvement of education infrastructure.” Senator Polley concluded.
Mr Webb voiced his support for the Program. “These projects are making a real difference, not just to these 3 schools but to the 50 schools that have received funding across Bass. Education is one of the most critical issues for any government at any level and I am proud to be part of a Party that seeks to achieve the best possible outcomes for students.”
