COALITON BACKFLIP ON MIDLAND HIGHWAY FUNDING
The Coalition has back-flipped on yet another major policy commitment that they had made, forgetting about the $400 million that Tony Abbott had committed in February for the Midland Highway upgrade.
Senator Helen Polley said that “the Opposition Leader, Mr Abbott, was adamant during his Tasmanian visit that the $400 million funding was a definite – “It is an absolute commitment. No ifs, no buts’.
“Contrary to this promise, the funding for the Midland Highway upgrades was left out of the Coalition’s budget commitments this week,” Senator Polley said.
“This is another example of Phoney Tony’s stretching of the truth rather than a carefully scripted remark that can actually be treated as gospel,” Senator Polley said.
Abbott was quick to praise Mr Titmus for informing him of the issue - well where is Mr Titmus now?
What exactly does he have to say about yet another Coalition back-flip that was promised to Tasmanians by Phoney Tony?
A promise to give Tasmanian’s the “kind of life and the kind of economy that they deserve?”
“This is an example of yet another major back-flip and Abbott’s increasingly erratic behaviour that clearly demonstrates his lack of commitment to the truth,” Senator Polley said.
