NOMINATE A LOCAL ACHIEVER
Senator Helen Polley, Labor Senator for Tasmania today encouraged individuals, businesses and community groups that are making a significant difference in our community to nominate for the Community Achievement Awards.
“Where would we be without those that contribute so much to making our local communities a better place to live?
“These Awards provide an avenue to publicly thank individuals and groups that deserve acknowledgment and recognition and I encourage everyone to consider making a nomination,” Senator Polley said.
Senator Polley said that “these awards are also a fantastic way to encourage other individuals, groups and communities to become engaged and work together to make our Tasmanian community’s stronger and put new ideas into practice.”
Nominations are now open in the following categories:
· Tamar Valley Dairy Business Enterprise Award
· Franklin Press Events and Tourism Award
· Volunteering Tasmania Volunteering Award
· MAIB Disability Achievement Award
· Nyrstar Environment and Sustainability Award
· Qew Orchards Outstanding Achiever Award
· Angove Family Winemakers Primary Industries and Agricultural Award
· Kleenheat Gas Community of the Year Award
Great prizes are available with nominations closing on Tuesday 27th July 2010.
A Gala Awards Dinner and Presentation evening will be held on Saturday night 9th October 2010 to honour our States wonderful achievers.
